A tumultuous season awaits the Lakers. Their superstar, LeBron James will miss the playoffs. Magic Johnson resigns from his post as president of basketball operations while LeBron James ends his first season as the cornerstone for the Lakers franchise. LA Times sports columnist, Arash Markazi, tweeted on Tuesday night a quick video of the athlete walking out of the Staples Center followed by security officers dismissing reporters without a statement. He shakes his head while holding a cellphone in his hand. James questions the future of his former team.

The team has been facing losses over the past season. Being the most reported teams in the league, the Lakers have not won a single championship in the past nine years. They are expecting Lebron James to bring the team back to glory this season when they signed him in last summer. His departure is a perplexing situation for the entire team.

Meanwhile, Earvin Magic Johnson, expressed his gratitude to the Lakers for the opportunity they have given him. In his twitter post on Wednesday, he thanked the Lakers owner, the executives and his entire operations staff. He hails himself as Laker of life. His abrupt decision to resign has nothing to do with the health announcement he made in 1991. Lebron James is preparing to take on a role in Space Jam 2 which is set to begin filming this summer.
